History of the Austin Spurs
The Austin Spurs are an NBA G league team based out of Cedar Park, TX and are affiliated with the San Antonio Spurs. Recently crowned as the 2018 NBA G League champions, the Spurs represent one of the league’s most successful franchises with several playoff appearances. The team also won a championship in 2012 as the Austin Toros in the NBA D-League.
Originally, the team was known as the Columbus Riverdragons when it was established in 2001, but the team was sold and relocated to Austin in 2005 to become the Toros. They were purchased by the San Antonio Spurs in 2007, and the team name was finally updated in 2014 to reflect the parent club nickname.
Attending a Spurs Home Game
The Spurs play at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, TX, which is a roughly a half-hour away from the city of Austin and less than a two-hour drive from the professional San Antonio club. Aside from watching some of the world’s most talented athletes compete, the team offers several different options for a special Fan Experience.

Be sure to to bring money for parking at the H-E-B Center, although there is plenty of paid parking spots available in the lot.
